This afternoon a young man was arrested by Mantua Police for entering Crestwood High School and Crestwood Middle School without authorization. This individual is in police custody.
We are still reviewing details but this is what we believe to be accurate information at this time:
The individual entered Crestwood High School Thursday afternoon and approached a classroom where he made crude remarks directed toward female students. Staff members notified an administrator and attempted to escort the man to the main office. We believe the man may have tried to offer drugs to students as he exited. Police were notified but the man exited the building before they arrived.
The man drove to the middle school and entered the building behind a parent who was just given entry to the building. He approached a female student who reported that he touched her buttocks and tried to hug her . The student walked away and immediately reported it to staff and administration. When approached by administrators the man exited the building and was arrested by police as he was driving away.
I would like to thank police, and staff members who assisted with this incident. I would also like to thank students who helped report information. In summary:
1. The intruder has been arrested and is in police custody
2. No one was injured but a student was touched as described above
3. There were no weapons
