Mr. Arden Sommers
Mr. Sommers spent the first 18 years of his life on his family farm in Stark County. During that period of time he also worked in the family wholesale and retail food business in Louisville. Through his love of football coaching, he discovered a passion for working with young people, which led to his career change from mechanical engineering to education. Mr. Sommers’ career in education began in 1975. His 17 year teaching career in the Cuyahoga Falls City School District was divided between Cuyahoga Falls High School and Bolich Middle School. A career in school administration began for him in 1992 as the assistant principal at Ravenna High School. After 5 years at Ravenna, he was given the opportunity to take the assistant principal’s position at Theodore Roosevelt High School in Kent. While at Kent, Mr. Sommers continued his career priority of a student-centered focus, providing students with many opportunities for leadership activities. Mr. Sommers currently resides in Kent and spends as much time as possible with his family. In his free time he loves to run, lift weights, spend time on his woodworking, and drive his collector mustangs.
